I do really like the colors.
Dear Tog Shop,
You have been insistent, so I will tell you what I think. I ordered the Captiva Float in all four colors and in two different sizes, two in the largest size and two in the next smaller size. I was planning to decide which size fit me best and then return the two that were not the right size and order those two colors in the correct size for me.
Let me say to begin that I love the colors of all the Captiva Floats. I couldn?t decide which I liked and which I didn?t. So pretty quickly I decided to have one of each.
As to the size issue, I first thought the largest size was entirely too large for me. It seemed to billow every which way. Then I tried the smaller size. It was somewhat better, not quite as much like a product of Omar the Tent Maker as the other one. However the elasticized sleeves were too tight for comfortable wearing. I decided I would have to take the elastic out of the sleeves and either leave the sleeves flopping or replace the elastic with a longer piece. I thought that solution was not totally satisfactory, since both ideas required more seam ripping and sewing than I really wanted to do. I focused too much on the "flowy" description when I should have concentrated on the "voluminous sweep." But bear in mind that I really liked the colors.
Wearing the smaller size I found it was still was more billowy than I really liked. I wished the material were not so heavy-weight, and more able to drape around the figure of the wearer. I would like either size better with more drape-y fabric. I do like the texture of the material but it is too stiff to conform to the body inside it at all. Now I realize that a float is supposed to ?float? away from the wearer?s body. But this fabric made me feel like I was wearing a sail. I toyed with the idea of washing the dresses and twisting them to make them more pliable. Not sure I liked that idea either. I considered smocking the front and rear bodices of the dresses to draw in the volume somewhat. But I don?t really know how to smock so . . . . I thought I might add some tiny stitched down pleats just below the bust to control the volume of the dress. This too was more sewing than I really wanted to do and I blanched at the idea of taking them to my tailor to fix them. The cost of tailoring added to the cost of the dresses and the cost of shipping and handling was daunting to say the least. Still I really really liked the colors.
I decided not to return the larger dresses because any alterations I made on the two smaller dresses I could do on the larger dresses as well, and each size had a different fit problem for me. I was reluctant to give up on them entirely because, as I said, I really really really liked the colors.
This thought brings me to the price for value consideration. I accepted the published price of the dresses as being in line with what other retailers were charging. However, I thought the price for shipping and handling was outrageous. That bit of dissatisfaction alone will make me think twice or three times or four times before I order from you again. There are too many other places to shop, on line or otherwise, that do not charge anywhere near your prices for shipping and handling. Many places ship for free and still keep their prices down.
So that is what I think. I?ll keep the dresses this season and if I cannot solve the fit problem I?ll donate them to my church?s rummage sale next spring and chalk this up to a learning experience. Someone else will really, really, really like the colors I'm sure.

Good casual dress.
The dress was a little long so I had to shorten and the over all fit was a little large thru the shoulders. A good dress to have on had to put on in a minutes notice you are having dropin company or need to run an errand.

Best Summer Dress-Ever!
I absolutely love this dress. It is comfortable even in the hottest times of the year. The fabric is heavy enough to provide no transparency issues. The fit is loose and easy to wear. Best of all, just about every time I wear this dress someone compliments me and frequently asks where I bought it. Comfort and compliments in one dress-I'ss take that!

has a great design
I love the feel of the material, and the colors. I was hoping mine would run more on the large size than the extra large size.

Be consistent in sizes when you sell thesame dress
I emailed you 6 TIMES asking if the sizes were comparable to the same dress sizes which I bought before. I got no answer and therefore had to guess what size to order. It turned out that the Misses larger size is MUCH narrower in the sweep than the earlier purchases.
I was also informed by your ads that there would be free shipping on this purchase. I was charged $8.99. I would take another major loss if I returned the 2 dresses I bought and asked for an exchange.
I actually wanted to buy all 4 colors you had in this dress because of the 40% off price and supposed free shipping. I only bought 2 because you never answered my inquiries about the sizes.
Wouldn't it be wiser to simply respect customers enough to answer their questions? You would have much better PR and make more money.
I am still undecided as to whether to return the 2 dresses with the narrower skirt sweep.

Too large, even ordered a size smaller
Material is very heavy, sleeves were too long... neck was small and material not wrinkle free... I hate to iron!
